Kim Simons

Director of Children and Family Ministries

I accepted Jesus Christ as Lord of my life when I was eight years old. My Mom faithfully took my three brothers and I to church. My relationship with Jesus grew through the years. I volunteered in the church nursery at age nine and my love for children grew as I continued serving through high school.

Before I knew it, my senior year arrived and because of my love for children I chose to obtain a degree in Elementary/Early Childhood Education. I graduated in December 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree and a terrific fiancée. After marrying Steve in 1988 we moved to Philadelphia and I worked one year teaching Pre-kindergarten in a private school and then taught 5th grade for 2 years in the public school. I believe God was preparing me for ministry during that season.

I am the mother of two teenagers. I praise God that I was able to stay home with them until I began my job at Galloway in 2001. My husband and children are my first ministry. I am so grateful to have them in my life.

The Lord has given me such a huge heart for children. The reward I see in watching children learn to know and love Jesus is such a blessing. During my years as Director of Children’s Ministries I have seen children become devoted disciples of Christ.

It is my greatest joy to be in the presence of the Holy Spirit when He is working through the children. The wall in my office reads that success is making a difference in the lives of others. Happiness is watching them grow because of it! There is no greater growth we can offer children than their maturity in Christ. I am honored to be part of Children’s Ministries at Galloway.
