Amy Smith
Director of Early Childhood Ministries
Accepting Jesus was the easy part at age 17, but walking it out was the difficult part. My teenage years were rough. When I married and started having children, it became clear what the walk was all about.
God began to narrow my focus, and my heart was drawn to help moms and infants at the ABC Pregnancy Center. I also volunteered with the children’s ministries at Galloway Church. Then in 2004, I was hired and became the Early Childhood Director at Galloway. Now I am able to come along side the parents of these little ones. Our Ministry is to teach them about Jesus and show them His incredible love.
My husband Brad and I have 5 children. Jessica, our oldest, has blessed us with a granddaughter, Gabi. We also have Jennifer, Mike and Jayla. We have been a Foster Family for the last 10 years blessing and being blessed and even adopted our youngest Lily, through that process.
Every year my heart for these young children grows as I watch infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers talking about Jesus and praying. It would bring you to tears watching these very young prayer warriors pray for their families and pets. Yes, I said toddlers and pre-schoolers. What a blessing!
I believe that early positive experiences at church are seeds for a later positive experience with God. My heart is that we DON’T focus on the numbers, but focus on the SEEDS! It is a true Blessing to be a part of this ministry at Galloway and work with MANY others that share the same vision.
