Local Global Methodist Churches are again partnering together to make Christmas a little brighter for families who have suffered loss in North Carolina from hurricane Helen. East Grove, Center Community, Seneca Sonrise and Galloway Global Methodist Churches are collecting new or like new toys for kids 3-18 years of age to provide Christmas gifts for those devastated by destructive storms. No clothing, food or water will be taken. This is strictly a toy drive for Christmas gifts. Sturdy plastic totes with lids to pack the toy into are also needed.
Anyone who wishes to donate to this Christmas Toy Drive may drop of donations at East Grove Church, 1167 Belmar Rd, Franklin or Galloway Church of Franklin, 196 Seysler Rd, Franklin. Cash donations may be made payable to East Grove Church or Galloway Church.
Drop off times:
East Grove Church (at the back of the building): Wed, 11/27, 10:00-1:00; Mon & Tue, 12/2 & 12/3, 11:00-1:00.
Galloway Church (at the front entrance): Sat, 11/30, 9:00-12:00; Sunday, 12/1, 11:00-3:00; Tue, 12/3, 10:00-4:00.
Toys will be delivered to Black Mtn, NC. Local organizers are working with school guidance counselors in the region to identify those in need and distribute toys. This is the third effort by these Venango County churches to help North Carolina since Helene created a widespread area of destruction. People in our area have generously supported two previous collection drives. Twice before, these churches have collected and delivered 26-foot U-Haul trucks full of supplies given by people in our community to help people there. We hope that uniting together we can fill another U-Haul truck to bless kids and families this Christmas.
